There are only reflections of problems on the walls, etc. settled on this game.

Telling people who want to fix their games to use "Stable" releases probably isn't a good idea. 5.0 is already antiquated. It won't have NZHLE audio. It won't have netplay support for Not ISOs AFAIK it won't have scaled partial textures. AFAIK it won't have auto detection for GC aspect ratios That's just off the top of my head. Unrelated for OP's problem, but I was just making my point. Not to mention just the small emulation fixes in general that 5.0 won't have. (Note: I am somebody who firmly believes Dolphin's current release cycle is Very Bad and nobody should use stable until that is fixed) 09-13-2015, 09:49 AM

I know, but compared to 4.0.2 which was mentioned in his profile, 5.0 rc is already a huge improvement. Also, the latest releases starting from 4.0-7538 broked Wind Waker on Windows (maybe other games as well), so i would not suggest him to start using builds that were problematic for me. 09-13-2015, 11:09 AM

The justification is that places like Debian's official repositories need to only have proper 'stable' builds, i.e. those with no regressions at all compared to their predecessor. Not so long ago, the devs weren't really considering making a stable release in the near future as it would mean freezing feature development while testing for and fixing every bug, but the current setup was deemed acceptable as development could continue and one set of builds would get all the testing needed to know it was regression-free, while users could do what they were wanted to do anyway, which is to just use dev builds.

It's hard to call Dolphin's stable branch stable if over half of the time the solution to problems people come on the forums is "Don't use stable. Use development"
As for debian, 3rd party repos can be added. 09-13-2015, 05:41 PM

Use development" That's true for 4.0.2, but not 5.0. (Though maybe it will be true in a year or so if the same release cycle continues...) |
