An emulator isn't an emulator if it uses all hacks. Just wait for people to optimize the JIT or something. Wouldn't you rather have more features? Tongue

Is this ector guy the project leader of Dolphin? It is true that the graphic issues should be the first priority of an emulator, but all I found out was some features like post processing shader which has no benefit for the graphic emulation that had been made.
It would be nice if the graphic has been emulated well.
No offense to anyone, sorry if I offended you with this post.

ector is one of the two main developers before dolphin went open source and hes working a lot on it still.

you cant possibly optimize for all games.

the more games supportet, the slower it will be. (not always but it tends to be)

Even ePSXe (stable PSX emulator) still have hacks for certain games, except you can found out the codes that the consoles used and implement them.
I 'm still wonder how the devs found out the codes for the core....

No, I meant like optimize the code. And do platform-specific optimizations, like utilize MMX/SSE instruction sets.

they're already using the SSE2 instructions Tongue, and i'm not sure if they're using the SSE3, SSSE3, SSE4.1 and SSE4.2 instructions or the AMD MMX2, 3DNOW, 3DNOW+, and SSE4a Tongue

you can ?
well you can try. i dont see that much potential there that is needed.

but you can do a lot with game specific optimizing.

As long as this is not in the main dolphin code but added later, i dont see reasons why it would be bad.

We apologize that the dolphin team doesn't only focus on issues and sometimes they want to add something fun for you to mess around with.
