What can I run?

Just got a new laptop, here are it's specs:

i7-4710MQ (i5-4430S equivalent more or less)
nVidia GTX 860M (GTX 750 Ti equivalent. Almost exactly the same.)
8 GB of RAM 1600 MHz Single Channel
Windows 8.1

I don't plan on overclocking the CPU, but it is undervolted. Same with the GPU; it likely won't be overclocked.

What can I expect to run?

Everything the light touches, pretty much. Very few games will run poorly.
in a perfect world we would all be piles of sand with no ability to form coherent bodies of body

Sweet! Think I'd be able to do it at 1080p? Smile

Definitely.

Thanks! I'm trying to run a game now, but I got the error "Failed to enumerate outputs". I did a bit of research and the solution says to "Not select the nVidia GPU via Dolphin."

Does that mean Dolphin doesnt work with nVidia's GPUs? Thats very confusing...

Edit: I am now trying to use the HD4600, but the game does not run @ 30 FPS (Wind Waker, if it is important which.) I could post my settings if needed, but they aren't changed greatly from stock. I follow most of these settings: https://dolphin-emu.org/docs/guides/settings/

Follow the instructions here for the GPU part: https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-unofficial-laptop-performance-guide

Make sure you're using the latest development build (not the stable build) for the best performance.

Okay I will follow those instructions. So I should use the beta builds? Okay I will try that too.

When I use the latest beta version, I only get 6% speed...

Something is seriously wrong with your setup then. Download two programs (CPU-Z and GPU-Z) and run them while running Dolphin. Take a screenshot so we can see what's happening.

Okay I'll be back, give me a few minutes.

Here is the result:

Everything looks totally fine to me. The voltage on the CPU may be a bit low since I undervolted it in Intel XTU, however the stability is impeccable as it makes no difference for it when playing other high-end games such as Far Cry 3 and Battlefield 3.

The Dolphin emulator is trying to run Wind Waker, but isnt getting very far.

Edit: I noticed that my GPU is not clocking up very high at all. This is likely because it is not getting used (I didnt have time to do the instructions as you said), and the HD4600 is likely being used.

However, even with the stable release version, the 4600 seems OK with the workload given, so the beta release really doesnt seem okay with... something.
