I want to push the emulator to the brink. So, I can get maximum visuals and audio.

Under the General tab:

I enable Dual Core
I enable Idle Skipping
I enable Framelimit to 120 and tick Limit by FS.
In Advance settings I have JIT Recompiler enabled
Under Audio tab, I have DSP HLE emulation (fast) enabled

For Graphics settings under General tab:

I have Backend as Direct3D11
Full Resolution to 1920x1080 and Aspect Ratio to Stretch to Window

Under Enhancements tab:

I have Internal Resolution at 4x Native 2560x2112
Anti-Aliasing at 8 samples (quality level 32)
Anisotropic Filtering at 16
And, the following boxes ticked Scaled EFB Copy, Force Texture Filtering and Per Pixel Lighting

Are these the maximum or fastest settings?

These are my machine settings , but all 4 cores have been overclocked to 4.1GHz.

I don't think you need the framelimit at 120, unless you're seeing ghosting on your fancy 120 Hz monitor Tongue

However, switch over to OpenGL instead of DirectX, and use the vertex streaming hack under graphics (only available under OpenGL). Gives a good speedup for Nvidia cards

Framelimit should be set to Auto, unless you enjoy running games at double-speed. And "Force Texture Filtering" is a subjective enhancement – I personally don't like it, there's a reason the developers of games didn't want *every* texture filtered.

Thanks, any other suggestions?

My monitor is only 1920x1080.

Aside from the OpenGL + Vertex Streaming Hack recommendation (plus obviously putting Dolphin on a high performance profile in the Nvidia drivers), the only thing I can think of is reducing AA a bit since it might be causing slowdowns.

Thanks mate.

Do you mind add Dolphin to the nVidia control Panel under Manage 3D Settings? If, so, do I leave all those settings on default?

What do you think the AA should ideally be for a 1920x1080 resolution? Been told setting a higher internal resolution than the size of my dimensions is pointless as I will not see the difference? Similarly, with the AA settings.

I also notice that the Dolphin emulator does not run on 2 cores, but only one? I have an Intel i7 4930MX CPU that has 4 cores.

I haven't ever used the Nvidia drivers, I just know that that's what you have to do to make it use the dedicated GPU and keep it above idle clockspeeds.

Using a higher IR than your screen's dimensions is technically considered SSAA (the best kind of AA), though since the render resolution isn't even double the display res it doesn't really do much. I'd say keep it at 3x and just turn on the real SSAA.

And yeah, Dolphin should be running on two cores. Maybe the specific game you're playing has dual-core disabled in its config?

Hi,

How do you configure the config file for a particular file?

Config file for a particular game, actually – Dolphin doesn't give a fuck what you name the file, it's gonna ask for the same save data on the memory card regardless of what you name it. Anyway, right-click > Properties. If "Enable Dual-Core" is unchecked (not a blue square or a check-mark), you have to play that game in single-core mode. (Not that you can't just check the box, but, uh, good luck having the game boot/run properly.)

See, the other thread I started about Dual Core CPU.

Anyone else like to share their configurations?
