Hey guys I was playing around with a GameCube file editor and I realized you could take out ceartin effects and there could be Some optimizations (such as lower view distance and stuff) maybe we could try optimizing games instead of optimizing the emulator, idk just an idea I saw a small speed up disabled ceartin effects in super mario sunshine

This would be near impossible, as there's not a "standard" game engine (or similar) used on gamecube titles. To even know if a "performance" increase is possible requires a massive amount of internal knowledge about the game's workings, and that would be extremely game-specific and require significant skilled engineer time. And that's before you even implement the "performance" hacks.

Some specific games may get popular enough, or gather enough engineer interest to do that. But I doubt there'll ever be a concerted effort from the dolphin side - as "emulation accuracy" and "changing the game code" are fundamentally at odds.
