IIRC the Wii only has a 3MB framebuffer so it can't even do solitaire in HD. With less than a gigapixel of fillrate the Wii probably can't even do Quake3 in HD@60FPS.

Honestly, a HD Wii would cost about 100 - 200$ more and would just lag...

Also Nintendo did not implement HD, because few people had HDTV at that time, which is why they promised to add HD to their next console.

how the hell is having a tiny arm core in a gpu NOT badass and sexy? Undecided

how is it not sexy to know that one tiny arm core is keeping the whole system together (somewhat, if it wasn't for the trucha bug the wii-scene would look different, and i wouldn't be here i think)

also, the hardware of the wii imo is great.
the graphics it can produce is just great; but the programmers who actually work for the wii are just retarded and suck ass (also, i agree a higher resolution would be nice but i wouldn't say that for sure untill i see conduit in 480p which i haven't yet)
