When playing Super Mario Sunshine NTSC on the latest build (5.0-8574), after pressing start on the title screen, the touch controls flicker like crazy! The blue menu bar also does it as well.
Any reason why this is happening?

Nvm I found out why, had to make a game.ini and add this:

[Video]
PerfQueriesEnable = False
[Video_Hacks]
EFBToTextureEnable = True
EFBAccessEnable = False

Also makes the game run a lot faster at the cost of accuracy.

Yeah, those setting will not just cause "inaccuracy", but make the game impossible to complete - I believe it uses perf queries to calculate how much 'goop' you've cleaned up.

Please don't just set random things because they "faster" without understanding the trade offs!

Actually, disabling perf queries in particular makes the game easier to complete. Not sure whether the other two settings makes something in the game impossible, though...

Either way, I have no idea why these settings would be affecting the touch controls. It sounds like the underlying problem is something else.

Well, it messes with the gameplay - if there's a bug that instantly warps to the credit's screen I wouldn't consider that 'completing' the game... An extreme example, I know, but the same idea in my mind.

Absolutely, it does mess with the gameplay a lot.

TheGamerPro: Please do not recommend people use Store EFB Copies to Texture only in Super Mario Sunshine. Just because it makes the game run faster doesn't mean it's running better. There are some games where the sacrificed effects/features aren't as damaging, but in Super Mario Sunshine it makes the game nearly unplayable. Not being able to clear the goop/paint is a pretty big problem, no?

Using default settings here with vulkan on shield TV. Do you recommend any settings to improve speed without breaking amythany?

Have faster hardware?

The unfortunate thing with the Shield T.V. is that it's a 3 year old low-powered Android device mostly carried by NVIDIA's superior drivers compared to the rest of the mobile competitors. But the old processor can only take it so far - a game like Super Mario Sunshine really needs EFB2RAM for detecting that you've cleared paint, it really needs EFB Access From CPU to detect if Mario is visible on screen.

Those things are demanding and an old, low powered device just can't do it.
