Is there a way to do it? I.e. if I want to change games, can I do that with a controller? I figured out how to do save states, pause, exit game and whatnot but the closest I could find in the settings was "change disc" which still requires me to go to the computer and pick the disc with the file manager. Maybe there's a way I don't know about? A different application entirely that can do it maybe? All I essentially need to do is map the arrow keys to the D-pad and enter to A and I should be singing.

You could use Joy2Key to do exactly that... https://joytokey.net/en/
Keep in mind this will change all input's made with the controller to analog inputs (at least if you set up your analog sticks to do that) and I think you must assign the controls used by joytokey as keyboard inputs in the Dolphin configuration. I don't know if it causes extra input lag though...

Thanks for the tip with joytokey. ![]() Tried it out and it seems to work fine. So far no noticeable lag but kind of tricky to know which keys I need to map. Alt and tab I figured out were useful too when Dolphin crashed on me. I only wish there was a way to map a button combination on the controller to a keyboard input but it doesn't look like it. If someone finds this thread and wants to do it to then note that there's an option for "auto-repeat" for button presses if you double-click the row in the joytokey app. Just set how often you want it to repeat. I did this so I can scroll properly through the menu. (Otherwise it will just register one press). |
