I'm wondering if my macbook pro could handle running this emulator
here are the specs:

Model Name: MacBook Pro
Processor Name: Intel Core i7
Processor Speed: 2.66 GHz
Number Of Processors: 1
Total Number Of Cores: 2
Memory: 4 GB
Processor Interconnect Speed: 4.8 GT/s

Also what can I do to optimize my speed

In my opinion, the GT 330M isn't very good if you're going for high graphics, but it'll do fine for most games at medium resolution. There are a few exceptions, of course, for games like Super Mario Galaxy 2, which requires like over 9000... I mean 4.0 GHz to play at full speed with good graphics.

About optimizing your speed, you might want to try overclocking stuffs. Never owned an Apple laptop before, so I don't know how or if it's even possible or recommended (it's a laptop). Tweaking the settings might help, also, but that depends on the games you're trying to emulate.
Crappy desktop: Dell Inspiron 580
CPU - Intel Core i5-650 @ 3.2 GHz (Stock)
GPU - Nvidia GeForce GTX 550 Ti 2GB GDDR5
RAM - 8GB DDR3
OS - Windows 7 64-bit

Dolphin 3.0 - 202 dirty

Never overclock a laptop unless you have a cooling pad or a decent cooling solution in it.(IC Diamond 4 for example)

GPU:MSI N580GTX Lightning (Nvidia Geforce GTX 580) 1.5GB
HDD:Western Digital Caviar Black 500GB
CD/DVD Burner:Generic LG CD/DVD Burner (Black)
Power Supply:Corsair GS800
