After Updating my nvidia shield today, i noticed that Vulkan no longer worked properly on some games. I am using the latest master version. 3-d textures show up fine. But 2-d textures such as the Nintendo logo at the beginning of GameCube games or text doesn't show up. An example is animal crossing for the gc. Anyonne else having issues? Can they be fixed?
Edit: just tested super Mario sunshine and all logos are missing, and so is Mario on title screen <insert Mario is missing joke here> all other characters are missing in game as well

I was afraid of this,hopefully both Vulkan and Nvidia can cooperate to get a hotfix done in the next few days to a week if enough individuals can kindly inform both parties of this unfortunate circumstance.
Maybe try a few older Dolphin builds from a couple weeks ago or a month ago to see if it looks the same.

But has anyone checked other things that use Vulkan to see if those games/apps render correctly or not?
For example,something made with Unity for Android that utilizes Vulkan.

Might you try to wipe your shader cache?
/storage/emulated/0/dolphin-emu/Cache/Shaders ?

Edit: I've tried it, and it doesn't affect the rendering at all...

Now hesitating on updating until something can be done about those frustratingly notorious issues.
It is always destined to happen 99% of the time for drivers to break something on updates even though other things get fixed.

I am still waiting in terror for the Game Ready drivers to have a stable update after the several glitch-tastic builds potentially bricking computers upon updating. (if it ain't fixed,don't break it more)

And if a Shield TV hotfix can be done (hopefully ASAP) and succeed,I could finally change my signature to reflect the new version number.

@MonadoBoy: Maybe I should try that Dolphin version to see if it works right on 3.2 like my current installed build,please tell me the build number you tried initially on the upgrade.

Sorry for the late reply, my job is closing soon and I am trying to get as many extra hours as possible in case I cant find a new job anytime soon. I was using version 5.0 1142 when I wrote the original post I believe. I agree with you about the nvidia drivers. I havent updated my laptop graphics card since 368.11 because the newer versions of the drivers broke my bethesda games (fallout 3, NV, and oblivion). I can start both games, but when I open a save or start a new game they crash immediately using the new drivers. I assumed it was caused by windows 10 anniversary update at first but reddit said it was the drivers and sure enough, it was. Long story short, I will probably never update my drivers again until they fix it. because besides dolphin, Fallout 3 and NV, and the older bethesda games are the only games I own.

also, I have no other vulkan apps to test so I cant really tell you if anything else is working or not. vulkan must not be a very popular api on the shield (it seems very little people have an interest in coding for a smart TV), I bet its used so little that nvidia may never fix it. Opengl still works though, but it seems they are still using 3.0 instead of 3.1.

@degasus I tried deleting my shader cache as well, it didnt fix anything.

In hindsight,me installing that build causes shader cache to refresh anyway,and Twilight Princess looked just fine on it (3.2) still.

I have been holding off going to 3.3 due to this, staying on 3.2, but keep getting that nag screen daily to upgrade. I know a couple people have gone to 3.3 and ran into the issues and it looks like the the shading refresh doesn't work from what I read, so should we just stay on 3.2 then?

I don't know why, but I use Dolphin 5.0.1117 on Shield Software Upgrade 3.3 and Vulkan works just right, while in later versions not.

Since no one has mentioned it, the 3.3 upgrade introduces "support for Vulkan 1.0.1.0 Conformance Test Suite". If that was the reason for the lack of compatibility.

Sorry guys, had you found a solution about this issue? I confirm that with drivers of nvidia shield 3.3 the screen is black with api Vulkan and the last working version is 5.0.1117
