i tried overclocking gpu via amd overdrive. Auto and manual and test stability via vantage. I could pretty much max it with stability and temp. But on games i couldn't do any overclock. It just hanged. I have put it on default now. There is a little noise sometimes. I suspect from a loose fan. Generally all is well. So yeah... I dunno what i'm doing. The speed when i clocked it was cool. If i can get it stable i would have kept the clock. 4850 powercolor with pcs cooling
Overclocking the GPU would (I guess) only reduce the GPU load when using Dolphin. If you want better performance with LLE, you'll need to overclock the CPU, usually through the BIOS/UEFI when you boot.

I understand dolphin uses CPU. I did gpu for general pc gaming. Lle is not a massive problem and if I spend 1000usd I can get a really nice dolphin lle compatible i7 extreme CPU for the laptop but I'm gonna wait because dolphin is just a mess around as far as I'm concerned. Yes it can run games and it is pretty decent but I use it experimentally. I have never finished a single game on dolphin. I use it on and off. I've been playing the zelda games since 2010 and still not finished it once. :-)
Note: when I say mess around I mean me using it experimentally not dolphin being a piece of junk. :-) |
