Looks like I'm the first to post here.

Yesterday, as part of a procrastination moment, I started porting a texture pack for this game (widescreen hack + custom textures + 3D is great), which shouldn't take long to do. I noticed that the game looks a lot dimmer than it should, I think. It lacks brightness compared to the same game in N64 emulators. It happens in both D3D and OGL backends.

Does anyone know if this is intended, or a bug, or...?

Bug
OK, so I am a little unsure as to how I should describe this bug/issue in a way that makes sense to those who have not experienced it, but I will try.  The issue I'm having is a very minor one relating to sound at the appearance of the title screen logo. The glitch is that upon the tilte screen logo appearing, the usual "It's me, Mario!" will be delayed and will then play several seconds late as a garbled, sped-up sound clip. Sometimes, the title screen music will also be delayed and then later play as a garbled sound clip as well, along with the Mario voice sound effect. I hope my explanation was understandable to some degree.

Are you using the OpenAL sound backend?

I don't have this sound issue, I have no idea.
But for masterotaku question, yes this is intended, N64 VC have low brightness on a real Wii so colors don't attack your eyes anymore.

I came here because I'm facing an odd problem. Did anyone successfully got the star 1 Plunder in the Sunken Ship on Jolly Roger Bay? No matter what I do, the eel don't get out of the ship (like he normaly do on the real console). I'm using 4.0-7161 (for smash netplay).
From France with love.

Let me check on that, and I'll get back to mention whether I am or not.

Edit: OK, just checked and yes I am using OpenAL as my sound backend.  My full audio setting stats are listed below;

Quote:Backend: OpenAL

DSP HLE Emulator Engine: DSP HLE emulation (fast)

Latency: 30

Volume: 92 %

Dolby Pro Logic II Decoder: Off

Use not OpenAL and that'll fix the issue with startup. A few games have this bug with OpenAL.

I just decided to test playing that star and see if the eel would refuse to emerge. I found that it was quite tricky to get the eel to come out and that I actually had to go away, such that the eel was off-screen in order for it to start swimming around. If I recall correctly though, this is and always was the case in SM64, with the eel being tricky to lure out. I think it's just the way the game is programmed and not a Dolphin-specific issue honestly.

Little late, but I just wanted to say that I tried that and it worked! Smile Thank you for the suggestion!
