Video freezes when loading save state

I was able to play fine and save/load my states as usual, but all of a sudden across all builds loading a state produces either a black screen, or it freezes the current image. I can hear sound like the state loaded, but I cannot play since the screen messes up. Tried with SMS and Zelda WW. Any solution to this not very often documented problem?

I have this problem, although it dosent happen always, but what i do is switch from full screen to windowed mode and that fixes it but it dosent work always but i think it has to do with resolution or something in that area
Try messing around with the settings a bit, set aspect ratio on auto and disable widescreen hack

I've had that work. But it seems like my saves are completely dead as they don't work no matter what resolution I'm in or if I'm running in a window. Is it completely corrupted?

Dunno it hardly happens on my system, cause for twilight princess i save state at the door of every boss dungeon so whenever i'm bored i just load the savestateTongue without issues, but loading state does a number on the ram so what ur spec maybe the problem is from there

Before I save state I pause the game and before I load state a pause the game. That helped my problem.

Here are some other tips - when saving or loading try to be in a place or area where there's no audio e.g in twilight princess try loading state at the screen where the wiimote safety strap is shown and also when saving like you said pause the game then save state, cause i don't know whether it helps but try to make sure the current screen is similar to the screen being loaded i.e in pause menu since all games use the same pause game interface throughout the whole game...dont know whether it helps but i always try to meet this when saving or loading & also when loading i also notice my ram jumps for a second so if your ram is small using a game booster might also helpBig Grin

I have 8GB of RAM, so don't think it could be the problem...I do have the pagefile turned off, wonder if that would cause any issues with Dolphin and saving?

I will also try the pausing before saving, I usually save whenever and most of the time and there is a lot of action going on. :p

I'd like to know if you got this fixed. I have the same issue and no matter if I try to save in a new slot or under a new name, the same happens.. video freezes and no game Sad
