Hi Everyone

I am new to dolphin and don't know a whole lot about computers.
I am trying to run an ISO file on dolphin and when I try to run it I get a black screen that says " Dolphin D3D Video Backened"

what exactly does this mean? and is their a way to fix it?

thank you

First of all we need more information, for example:
1. What CPU (brand and type) do you exactly have? What GPU (brand and type) do you exactly have? You can find this easily in this little program called CPU-Z (https://www.cpuid.com/downloads/cpu-z/cpu-z_1.84-en.exe) and update this in your Dolphin Forums profile.
2. What version of Windows do you have? Windows 98? 7? 10? 2018? and is it 32 or 64bit? also update this in your profile.
3. What settings did you change in Dolphin or is everything still at defaults?
4. What game are you trying to play?

At least a bit of advice:
1. Download the latest development version of Dolphin from the top of the download page, 5.0 (if your profile is correct) is over 2 years old now and many, MANY changes and improvements have been made.
2. Get the latest drivers for your GPU from the nVidia site (If your profile is correct they can be found here https://www.geforce.com/drivers)
3. Install the latest DirectX from here: https://download.microsoft.com/download/8/4/A/84A35BF1-DAFE-4AE8-82AF-AD2AE20B6B14/directx_Jun2010_redist.exe

If it still doesn't work it might be a broken dump, to make sure please do the following: Right click the game in the Dolphin Games list, Select Properties from the menu, go to the INFO-tab and click Calculate MD5 and post the generated number here.
Check my profile for up to date specs.
