Hi folks,

I'm having a problem. I can't run games over 35-50% speed and the FPS is low.
Computer specs : Intel Pentium 4 @3.00ghz, 4GO DDR2, nVidia GT 430 w7 32-bit.

I have some screenshots of my Dolphin settings.

It might not worth mentioning but I'm using a usb PS3 controller with MotionInJoy.

Dolphin version : 3.0-179-dirty. My computer (updates, drivers, etc.) is up-to-date.

Thanks for this useful comment, by good I meant ' I can run many games without problems '.

I think it was a useful comment. You were under the impression that you had "good specs" and that Dolphin was at fault for the slow speed, he informed you that you absolutely do not have good specs and that is the reason for the slowness.

Oh well, I guess it's time to change ... :(

Any idea why I can still run many new games without problems ? Is the Gamecube more demanding ?

Most games rely heavily on GPU.

Relatively little CPU is used.

Dolphin is the opposite.

I personally own a pentium 4 and Ati X1550.
Can't run a thing in Dolphin.

Of course, modern architectures are like:

Pentium 4 @ 3 ghz = Single core of i3 2100 @ 200 mhz or something like that.

CPU's get more and more upgrades and optimizations every year.

It's actually at the point where this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboBundleDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.752616
Can play many Dolphin games, despite costing as much as your average Wii.
(The only things missing are an OS, HDD, and GPU, but still, WOW.)

Because there isn't one.

You'd best be off building something newer.

That is, if you have a socket 478, as I do.

If you have 775, upgrade to Core 2 Duo and overclock like hell.

GPU should be just BARELY be able to push 2x native.

You could use this, but I wouldn't recommend it due to it being about as generic as you get.

Just research console emulation on PCs. Google it and you'll most likely find that it takes a lot of CPU power to emulate a console 100% on a PC - even one as old as the Gamecube.
AMD X3 @ 3.0 GHz
Radeon 5750 1GB DDR5
2GB RAM 667MHz
Windows 7 32-bit
