Is it possible to get VC wads without having to dump a Wii NAND?

Yeah, there are plenty of homebrew programs that allow you to send installed wads to your SD Card if I remember correctly.

After some searching I have found some links for you. These are homebrew programs.
http://gbatemp.net/threads/wad-creator-v1-0.149075/ http://gbatemp.net/threads/bluedumpmod.299932/ Be careful though; I've read in the readme of the first link that it requires an installation of cIOS, perhaps the second might need it too. cIOS is dangerous to install and might permanently brick your Wii. You're not allowed to discuss cIOS installation anywhere on the WiiBrew forums, or on these; it is seen as piracy. .wad actually is a pirated file format, and cIOS is also used for the installation of USB Loaders; which are Wii piracy in the worst form. So you got to figure out yourself how to install cIOS, let's be clear on that. You have been warned. Anything else; be sure to read the threads; I didn't create a step by step installation and neither did they. Hope these links are useful. 410172 05-02-2014, 04:05 PM

Hear what Wikipedia says:
A WAD file is a file archive containing .APP files, which can be extracted and installed on a Wii gaming console. They often contain information for the Wii, such as System Menu, IOS, Channels etc. Although they are mainly used to install custom channels and IOS, they have also been linked to piracy, as users can install pirated WiiWare and Virtual Console titles through the use of WADs. WADs are generally installed using the homebrew application WAD Manager. Plus: for using the programs that can create those WADs you will have to install cIOS, which is also linked to piracy. Take a look at the WiiBrew forums. It says the following: Discussion of WADs, Backups, ROMs, ISOs, cIOS is NOT ALLOWED! NO PIRACY! Convinced? 05-02-2014, 06:12 PM
No, because you're not thinking straight. You can legally make your own wads, meaning the wads themselves are not related to piracy whatsoever. If some other forum wants to have a zero tolerance policy on it, that's their choice, that still doesn't make you right.
@410172 - Simply because some (or a lot of) people use a file format for piracy does not mean everyone that uses that file format is a pirate, is involved with piracy, or even supports piracy (though it seems easier for some forums to jump directly to those conclusion). There are plenty of legitimate uses for the WAD file format, not the least of which is being able to play WiiWare on Dolphin (in fact, that's the pretty much the best usage case
![]() Our rules are clear though; users can't talk about downloading games. Dumping/ripping WADs from your own Wii is A-OK. You can legally do this with cIOS or any other homebrew method of your choice. We don't care about other forums, since we're not other forums. 05-03-2014, 03:10 AM
Ok you guys win this discussion. Never mind. cIOS might still brick your Wii though so be sure to find a good Youtube tutorial for it.
