DKCR with VBeam hack disabled: Normal levels get a huge speed boost (30%~50%), but the rotatable island map runs like crap (much slower) Smile

@Iced: For best performance, use r6891.

Exactly...Technically, need the FPS limit for perfect audio.

Whatever this VBeam thing is it must be pretty important, you just don't get a 30% speed increase without sacrificing something important, I went from having 45-60% ingame and 80-90% in-menu in Sonic Colors to having 80-100% ingame and 100% in-menu.

Whatever it is, it messes up with MIDI music, Sonic 4 doesn't get any speedup and the music slows down to a crawl.

In theory turning it on is supposed to IMPROVE accuracy in exchange for performance. However it appears to be doing the exact reverse. Proper vbeam emulation must not be implemented properly since turning it off activates the old vbeam hack which appears to be more accurate for the time being.

I hope that the current behavior is kept as an option for later revisions, the current implementation is a godsend to get playable performance on lower-spec PCs.
