I have searched many times, many days throughout the internet for a fix, a remedy, a simple or complex solution to the connectivity link issue between the dolphin emulator and the VBA-M emulator.
After endlessly struggling, trying to find a solution, I came across some information that I somehow overlooked, but haven't tested yet.
This was taken directly off the Dolphin Emulator wiki.
GCN-GBA Connectivity
In stable releases of VBA-M, the GCN-GBA connectivity does not work properly, causing severe slow-downs to the point where both games timeout before an emulated connection can be established. Although unstable and barely functional for Pokémon Colosseum, the recommended releases of VBA-M to use the GCN-GBA emulated hook-up are the WXVBAM versions. You may need to import the battery save that matches the game running in VBA-M while the GBA BIOS is active for Dolphin to establish the link properly. The save type for the compatible GBA Pokémon games are Flash 128K if automatic save detection does not work.

I have been trying to get 4 instances of Pokemon ruby/sapphire/emerald/fire red/leaf green (four of the five) running at the same time to test out a feature only found in Pokemon Colosseum
In Gang Battles, you can actually have a battle with 12 pokemon. This is strange, against the standard 6 teams of pokemon. This unbalanced feature allows up to 24 pokemon to battle in a single battle!
It can also be a very expensive feature just to test out (Which may be why it was removed). The feature requires at least (and a maximum of) 4 game boy advances, and 1 game cube. You cannot do this, I believe, if you attempt to use the game's internal pokemon.
This also requires 4 cartridges of the games stated above.
I hope that some light will be shed on how to get this working. I have actually had a little success, but not a lot. The vba emulators and the dolphin emulator "sees" each other, but cannot actually establish a firm, solid link to either trade or battle.
Perhaps it's my computer, once again. I run an ASUS motherboard (I will post the specs later when I get home), with an Intel 7700K Processor, and a Nvidia Geforce GTX 1060. 12 GB of RAM. I was hoping that this is enough, but it doesn't seem like the "Beast" machine that I ordered from my PC builder. My vision of a beast computer would have a Titan X Black card, 32 GB of ram, Intel 7700K processor (I think), and a high end ASUS motherboard. I paid about 3000 dollars for this thing, and sometimes, the nvidia icon on the bottom disappears (the same thing happened to my oldest computer.)
