Would be nice if it works, but looks like a workaround anyways (that article addresses big RAM usage, but I have problems even with enough of it). While it seems reasonable option for final release (still together with traditional png for unsupported GPUs of course), it will be rather frustrating to have one more step of conversion during texture pack testing. 03-03-2020, 04:46 AM

Probably Gimp with some plugins can do this, but I really don't feel like learning its scripting only to bypass this bug. Maybe worth rebuilding dolphin with less optimizations and debug symbols to track error down with help of gdb/lldb+valgrind. It sometimes crashes instead of simply hanging, so it might help. 03-03-2020, 09:18 AM

Afaik there's no software that works natively in Linux that can convert to bc7 dds files let alone open them. The best compression you can do for a dds file is dxt5 which is fairly lossy but is supported by dolphin |
