I'm using the gamecube controller adapter for wii u and pc by mayfalsh on my macbook. Since on my macbook the usb ports are on the other side, I used a usb splitter to get one plugged in directly and the other other one through the splitter. However, in the controller configuration, only one input for the adapter shows up (mayflash/input/0) and when I tried to play melee (which I spent a long time dumping) one controller acted as a controller for both players. Why is the second input not showing up?

I think this is how the OSX driver works. It presents treats the adapter as one huge controller where all of the buttons and sticks of each GC pad is part of the huge controller. You could map the second players controls on your second GC pad for it to get picked up by Dolphin.
Alternatively, there is a second OSX driver that you could try: https://github.com/mitchdzugan/osx-wiiu-gcc-adapter |
