Using Gamepad

Basically, how do you set up the control configs to use a gamepad as an extension in games? For example, in goldeneye or fifa world cup 2010, you have the option of using a classic controller instead of the wii remote or nanchuk for those games. But I can't get seem to get it to recognize my gamepad, the only button that will work is the Home button. Any ideas anyone?

Actually, for that matter, any key I try to change, even on keyboard, doesn't work! I go to option, wiiremote settings, emulate wiiremote, and configure! but my changes do not take effect...

What gamepad do you use? Does your OS recognize it?

Make sure you select the right device, it should be in the same dialogue where you set the Wii bindings.

Actually, I got it to work as a gamecube controller rather than the wiiremote with classic extension, I think i know what I was doing wrong it was plugged in as a gamecube controller.
