Yo, I wanted to ask if moving the save directory of my Wii games to a cloud service like dropbox or google drive was viable? I've done this before with other emulators, just redirecting the save directory and all and it all works fine and dandy. I suppose my main question is about all the other folders in the /user/wii folder. Does moving the directory cause any unforeseen consequences? Like if there was a new revision or if Dolphin alters the shared2, tmp, or sys folders in a manner that I don't know about. I hope this doesn't sound like a stupid question, because it feels like it does. I've done it but I just wanted to be sure.

I do this with Dropbox, using symlinks just for my /GC and /Wii folders. I haven't had any noticeable ill effects from this, even though I'm syncing between two OS X installations and a Linux install. If you want to sync your /GC folder, you'd best use one of these: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NTFS_symbolic_link
I doubt there's gonna be any actual useful changes to the /Wii folder in the near future, unless we decide to start LLEing the little Starlet CPU in the Wii (which would probably end up being optional anyway), so don't worry 'bout it.

You don't need sym links, you can specify locations for the entire wii folder, as well as gc memory cards.

Don't care, symlinks are simpler for me and I like confusing people.

DDD Thanks for the help yo. This makes it a lot easier for cross-platform saving and keeps me from losing my saves.
