Using cheats with SSBM

Hey all, I'm using revision 5037, but this is not the first revision this bug has happened with.

All I want to do is enable 'All Characters and Stages' in SSBM, but every time I enable the AR code, the game freezes right after the intro movie. I hit start to skip the movie, the game freezes.

It's the USA version of Smash, anyone have nay ideas?

Probably cheats you use are unsafe, try searching for others
