So, before I start, I'll just say that I already have the wiimote working perfectly well as a 'Real Wiimote' in Dolphin, so I'm not asking for support in that sense; I would like to try out using a WiiMote as an input device for Windows, and also for Dolphin and I have some questions if you'll indulge me.

1) Is it possible to use the same WiiMote for both functions?

2) What software is best for the purpose? I have heard of GlovePie, but are there any better alternatives?

3) As far as I can tell, GlovePie uses a wiimote to emulate a mouse; If I then want to use the same WiiMote in Dolphin, can I still set 'Real WiiMote' or does it have to be emulated as the PC thinks it's a mouse? (Sorry, I don't know how to explain what I mean clearly... I hope you can understand).

1. Yes.

2. GlovePie will do the job.

3. It doesn't emulate a mouse. You can script and use it to control whatever you want. Be it your keyboard, mouse or even another joystick that's connected.
So you're using your Wiimote as your mouse, use that to open Dolphin and play your game with the same Wiimote?
It'll work fine. The only problem will be that your mouse will also move onscreen. (Easily eliminated when you hit "hide mouse" in the configuration).
Just make sure you play in fullscreen, otherwise you'll end up opening random stuff on your desktop.

Thanks Garteal, you made my day.
I'm going to check that out as soon as I have some time. I wonder if an Eventghost or Autoit script could disable glovepie whilst Dolphin is running?
Anyway, thanks again!

I'd still rather if there was something which didn't need PPJoy. Just because one guy can't afford to get his drivers signed doesn't mean I should have to disable various security features. I'd disable the security features, but all I really want is to keep the nunchuck as an analogue stick, which is too little gain to do anything with any chance of any risk, no matter how little.

XPadder is also a nice tool, I don't know if it works with a WiiMote though..
