Use wiimotes for gamecube controller?

Just curious, is it possible to use the wii controllers for gamecube games?

I haven't been able to rip my gamecube games yet, but curious if it would even work in the first place? I know I will probably have to remap the buttons.

I guess if you wanted to use the wii mote and nunchuck you could, but man tha'd be a pain.

I use either Sideways Wiimote or Wiimote + Nunchuk to play PS2/GC/retro pc games
Just write some scripts on Glovepie emulator and disable wiimote on dolphin (so that dolphin won't recognize it as wiimote)

I'd suggest using the classic controller with GlovePie, if you have it that is
