Use Controller while Dolphin is out of focus

PCSX2 (PS2 emulator) has a nice feature where when I configure my wired Xbox 360 controller it locks into the emulator so even when I move my mouse focus to another program I can still use the controller to play the emulator. How difficult would it be to add this feature to one of the development builds or is this feature already somehow accessible? (This feature is extremely useful because for example I am posting this thread as my friends are playing Monopoly (PCSX2) on the same computer, because I have a multiple monitor setup, I could not do this however with Dolphin because every time I put my mouse to the web browser it disables the controller input to Dolphin) Has anyone else noticed this or am I the only one? (I think you would only understand the usefulness of this feature if you have more than 1 monitor which is why I put the poll)

Activate background input in controller settings, it's already there.

Sorry that was just a bad joke from my side. You can enable the widescreen hack and set aspect ratio to stretch to window for panoramic gaming, haven't tried it myself though

I've always wanted to split the screen in half and make the split screen on two different full screens!

This would be a very good feature even for other reasons. Using the Mac version something terrible happens if I click somewhere else than the emulator (the desktop for example). Not only does Dolphin freeze, but it freezes for good, even if I pause the emulation before clicking on the desktop. What freezes is not the emulation, but Dolphin itself, I need to use "force quit" to close it. Adding this feature requires both that the emulation doesn't pause after clicking elsewhere and that Dolphin still accepts inputs from the controller.
 However, this would cause another problem and I think it's the reason this feature wasn't added. If you don't pause the emulation before doing something else and you're using the keyboard and not a gamepad, as you type, characters are added here when you post and at the same time in the game you do things you don't want. It's not hard to pause the emulation before doing something else though...
