I haven't noticed it but there was discussion of making Dolphin able to read games from an external hard drive using the WBFS filesystem, which can be used for the wii. In the WBFS drive the games uses only their actual storage space, without spending time to be compressed first.

Specs: intel i5 3570k @ 3.4GHz;
16Gb RAM; Raedon HD 7900;
Win8 64-Bit
