USB Controller not working(macOSX)

When trying to configure the USB controller, dolphin DOES detect it and all, but when i'm done mapping the buttons and start the game it just doesn't work, it's as if my controller wasn't connected.
Ive tried many things.
Yes, i'm sure the 'standard controller' option is selected for port 1
Yes, I'm sure im using port one
It just doesn't work

Also my usbcontroller works with other emulators and games in both windows and Mac
