Dolphin natively supports normal controllers, including the wired 360 'pad via a USB OTG adapter (which Sonicadvance1 himself has tested). Get that app you're using out of the way to fix it. (Especially if it actually *is* converting gamepad input to keyboard input, 'cause then the sticks are gonna be constrained to eight directions and you can't lightly press in a direction.)
Also, I don't think Dolphin for Android is really usable yet. Sure, it's got controller support, but the JIT has numerous subtle hidden issues that break games and the GLES3 backend doesn't work properly on 90% of the phones that have GLES3 support. And if it *does* work decently, it's gonna be pretty damn slow anyway.
