Hello everybody Wink

Let's say that i'm using build 4788 by Orleans.

Now build 4789 is out. How do I upgrade to the latest version? Should i only overwrite all the files and directories in my dolphin 4788 directory?

Doing that, will i reset dolphin configuration?i'd like to keep what i've modified Big Grin

Thanks, i'm sorry if this is a noob question Blush

Try downloading a build with no config files, or simple extract on a different folder, erase config files, move over the old revision.

Sometimes you need the config file not to be modified, in case the new version settings are already in place.

All you need to replace are the 2 exe's (dolphin and dolphinil) and the plugins folder, the rest is generally unchanged.

I install Dolphin to my Program Files folder and replace all of the files when I update revisions.
It's convenient, it keeps my pinned start menu shortcut working and updated.

I've been trying to bring the Plugin_Wiimote.dll from rvn 4774 into newer versions because it seems like that's the only one that plays nice with my wiimote. However, everytime I click on the wiimote icon when you start up dolphin so that I can pair it, it gives me an error like if the plug in doesn't exist. Is it not possible to bring the plugin with me? My bigger problem is why the other rvns don't work but that's another issue.

what about the 'cache' folder? it shows a whole bunch of game names

i was comparing the entire 'user' folder of a brand new revision and there seems to be quite a bit of difference

i.e. the user->wii->title folder has different number of folders inside (old rev has more than the newer). this would be the 'save' folder?

what folders need to be copied over exactly ...? i don't think the entire user folder right?
