Am currently ruining Dolphin on E4500 OC @ 3.0 Ghz some game already runs at full speed like Super Mario bros I need to boost my performance on games like Mario Kart Wii 2 player mode, SMG and Donky Kong.
Am short on budget I can only upgrade to:

(Intel Core i3 Processor i3-550 3.2 GHz 4 MB)
http://www.amazon.com/Intel-Processor-i3-550-LGA1156-BX80616I3550/dp/B003LL1X1A/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1306590054&sr=1-1

or:
(Intel Core i3 Processor i3-2100 3.1GHz 3MB)
http://www.amazon.com/Intel-Processor-i3-2100-LGA1155-BX80623I32100/dp/B004JEVGMO/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1306592345&sr=1-1

or:
(Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition 3.2GHz)
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002TQYUAE

witch one shall I get ? and am I going to have massive performance boost ?

The i3 550 is the best choice since you can OC it to 4Ghz easily ( i3 2100 Sandy Bridge can't be OCed . Only 2500k or 2600k can OC) .
And AMD Phenom is no match against Intel Core 2 duo series (Dolphin uses 2 cores , 1 more core for LLE plugin)
Laptop: (Show Spoiler)
Clevo W230SS : 3200x1800 IPS | i7 4700MQ @ 3.6GHz (Intel XTU + Triple fan mod) | GTX 860M GDDR5 | 128GB Toshiba CFD SSD | 16GB DDR3L 1600MHz
Acer v5-573G : 1080p LED |  i5 4200U @ 2.3GHz | Nvidia GT 750M 4GB | 128GB Toshiba SSD  | 12GB DDR3 1600MHz
Mini PC :: (Show Spoiler)
G3258 @ 4.6GHz | ELSA GTX 750 | Asrock Z87E ITX | 600W SFX 80+ Gold Silverstone + SG06-LITE | Corsair Vengeance 8GB 2000MHz | Scythe Kozuti + Ao Kaze | 25TB 2.5" Ex HDD (in total) , Zelda Gold Wiimote , LE Wii Classic Controller , Gold LE PS3 DualShock , BlackWidow Chroma ,
Now Playing : Xenoblade Definitive Edition on Yuzu - Switch Emu

I would go with the i3-2100. its the best option as you would be using the 1155 socket which would be the BEST for future upgrades. its better architecture then the older i3, and gives better performance clock for clock.
The phenom x4 is a little better in overall performance (basically for every other task besides emulation lol).

As for overclocking, the i3-2100 CAN be overclocked, it just has locked multipliers, but you can get it to 3.5ghz purely FSB. 113x31=3503mhz, i wouldnt really go any higher then that as you would risk other hardware failing. It also uses less power and puts off less heat then the other processors.

and really a 3.5ghz 2100 is about equal to a 4ghz i3 550. to push past 4ghz you would likely have to get a really good air cooler or get liquid cooling, which i dont think you would want to do as that would cost more then just getting like an i5-2500k + a cheap $20 cooler which would allow that to get 4.5ghz...

And really you could get 3.5ghz on that processor with either a stock cooler or a cheaper $15-20 one. As 3.1 > 3.5 isnt really a huge overclock and can likely be done at stock voltages.

And i believe all wii games can be played at good speeds on a 3.5ghz processor.

So really in the end, the best choice would be the i3-2100.

I recommend the Pentium G860, just so you can put more money into other parts.

It should be as fast as the i3 2100.

I spambot dug it out. Then SS deleted the spambot post.
