I swapped out my GTX 260 for a GTX 470. and it greatly improved my performance with both the DX11 and OGL plugins, as well as all the other games and benchmarks I've tried, but Dolphin's DX9 is now notably slower. I was slower when I first swapped cards, so I tried other builds of Dolphin I had installed, a fresh build, DX update, Driver Sweeper and finally a clean instal of Vista x64, only to get the same results.
For example sake, while I was at about 50fps in the opening view of the observatory with my 260 in DX9 at the settings I've been playing, I'm now at 35fps with my 470 with the same settings, and even turning the EFB scale all the way down to .375 only brings me up to 41fps. On the other hand, while I was at 35fps in the same spot and with the same settings in DX11 mode on my 260, my 470 gives me a solid 60fps even if I add 4xAA. So, the issue sees to be specific to Dolphin's DX9 plugin, but I'm at a loss as to what might be slowing me down. Anyone have any suggestions?
By the way, this is all running on an i7 920 @3.8 GHz, with 6GB of 800MHz ram.
