Updated my PC

LOL yeah... I had a p4 2.8ghz with an fx5200 in an agp x8 slot for... years and it still runs a lot of games today... my 5200 just doesnt have enough vram (128mb) to play fallout 3 so i had to get a new one

that is a craptacular pc pentium 4 good god, have you ever tried to clean a harddrive with one of those processors? I've had and it never even finished after 2 hrs!!! it also could have been an old ass harddrive but still those processors are so slow to do pretty much anything, any core 2 quad and core i7 do everything lightnight fast! boot up ur comp, anything pretty much! core 2 duos are somewhat slow compared to core 2 quad and core i7 performance for everyday task! get a core i7 at micro center at one of there stores, if u go in there u can get one for $199.99, which is a really sweet Fing deal!.compared to its regular price for 349.99. ne ways i recommend upgrading to a core i7 as it will last u for a long time to come, and a 9500gt isnt going to last u long as were getting more graphic heavy games like call of duty modern warface 2. if that game is pushing the xbox 360 to the limit, its gonna be a high requirement game, and games like the forced unleashed is coming to pc(F****** finalY!) lucas arts said pcs couldnt handle it a year ago and now there release it this fall. dont know wut made them change there mind but im really happy its coming out. the closer were getting to more complex game engines coming out and more graphic heavy games after this year, the better graphics card ull need so just prepare to upgrade soon into the near future for a graphics card that has a 100+ graphics bandwidth compared to 25 gigabyte bandwidth graphics card(actual facts from nvidia website about 9500gt bandwidth, u can check it out for urself if u dont believe me). but the get a gtx 260 in the near future as ur gfx only has 32 cores(nvidia quote) while gtx 260 has 216, get one on ebay for $100 now easily. just follow my advice and youll be glad u did.

Even if your FX 5200 would have 1 GB of graphicmemory, it wouldn't run Fallout 3. Fallout 3 needs a card with Shader Model 3
And IF the FX 5200 would have SM3, you would get around 2 fps with that card

And DualCores are slow? I've got the X2 7750 BE (2x 2,7 GHz), and it isn't slow at all! There is no need to get a Core i7 to play the latest games, i can play every game at maximum graphicsettings with my 7750 and my GeForce 8800 GT

No duh the 5200 is old and bad... i was simply saying its not that bad... i could play the source engine fine at high settings... im not an idiot obviously its not going to run fallout 3

i can make a i7 boot an windows os in 10min if i wanted to
how? give it an old slow ass hard drive and/or ram
+ if it was cpu im sure you were using a northwood P4, which indeed sucks

my Geforce 8600 GT (and thats not even the best of the GF8 series) can do games on max settings just fine. (maybe crysis not but that depends on what it'll work the hardest on, cpu or gpu)

ow and btw, engine coders these days can't do shit. imo only high voltage; epic games and renegade kid(their engines can do shit better for less memory/processing power then any other) get respect for their engines. maybe crytek too, but i dont know anything about their engine so for now they can buzz off in my book
all the others just do something and hope it works and then say " YOU NEED HIGH END PC CAUSE IT REQUIRES IT" while its just their stupid fault for making so much mistakes. and dont get me even started on the engine thingy, youre a dead man there




@ tufask : my GF FX could run UT2k4 just fine. hell it can do Win7 full speed while Win7 is very hard on GPU's. what the fuck is your problem? no it can't do modern shit but for games which dont need shaders 2.0 it works perfect on XP
