Question
Well I recently got around to getting a new computer Its specs are
Windows Vista 64 bit
Intel core i7 920
12 GB DDR3 memory
ATI Radeon HD 4850 1gb

I allready knew alot about emulation but I don't know much at all about graphics cards. Well the first thing I wanted to try was dolphin (my old computer could not run it at all) so I got SVN 4460 and I ran SSBB in 1280x720 windowed at 2xAF,4xAA,V-sync,and EFB copy disabled. It ran great! rarely did the FPS drop below 50 and the world was happy. But I soon found out my graphics drivers were out of date so of course I updated them. So after the update I tried to launch dolphin and play some SSBB (because it looked better on dolphin than on my Wii) and as soon as I booted the game it said "an error has occured and the programn needs to shut down". Well DolpinIL works but at half fps. I can get regualr dolphin to work if I launche twilight princess, stop it and then launched Brawl, but still only at Half FPS. Some help would be lovely.

That's strange have you reverted back to the older drivers just to make sure that's definitely the problem?
I really doubt it is though?

Yeah I went back to the version I was using before via system restore (I confrirmed that it said the old driver version) and it once again worked fine. I can't stay back at those driver however because they cause problems in newer games, (L4D2 Crysis, ect).

Hmm that is strange. What drivers are you on now/what were to older ones?

I can only suggest maybe trying a driver version a revision or two down, they should still be fine for most games, or try a beta of of whatever ati's next driver is (i'm currently on nvidia so don't know alot sorry)

Problem soveld.... Well in an act of desperation I ran Dolphin in compatablilty mode for Widnows 95 and it ran just as wonderfully as before. Better actualy I get a constant 50 fps now. But the question is what in the world made that work? I'm bretty sure if you tried to run Dolphin on a machine runnning 95 it would explode... or at the very least start to smoke. Well I hope this helps anyone else having problems.
