I know nothing about it, though. 07-05-2012, 02:58 PM
I got it working in both Dolphin-win-x86-v3.0-458 and Dolphin-win-x86-v3.0-716
Now I want to watch replays I have of Project Melee but there's problems. First, as stated in first post, any version past 0.458 won't allow you to save a game state of Brawl (which is needed to view replays). And you can only load a game state of Brawl after you load Gecko (as stated). So this was not working well at all so i went to the 0.458 though I think it's slower. So in 0.458, It makes a game state, and then I go to view replays and replays through the SD card still show up as "corrupt". So I think my last step here is to put the replays somewhere that's inside the virtual Wii instead of the SD card (which folder is that?). Any methods/tips? 07-07-2012, 04:05 AM

For replays, last I used them (project M demo 1), they were working fine no matter what version I was using, included the ones that already were in my SD card. I could even record replays on Dolphin. I'll check if replays work correctly in Demo2 later, since I'll have to download the WiFi version of the demo to check. And I think you're confusing save states and save files. Save states are emulator-exclusive, instant recordings that you can load to keep playing exactly where you left off, like in the middle of a match or something. The save file is the game data that gets created on the console (in this case the emulator) and keeps your progress recorded. So yeah, save states work just fine, and the save file issue needs to be corrected manually in order for it to work on versions over 3.0-458. 07-07-2012, 09:14 AM
" To fix this, copy the contents of the "data" folder to /User/Wii/. "
Copied the contents inside the data folder to be inside the "Wii" folder ( the contents where a brawl save .bin I extracted like "advs1.bin" and "net0.bin" , to no avail. Still asks to create brawl save file WHEN USING GECKO TO LOAD P:M. Is there a folder where I can put replays into the "Wii Console", so I can load them since when they're loaded off the "SD card" they all say corrupt though the one that came with the game that says its on the Wii (the home run contest) works and loads (desynced actions of course because P:M is loaded). I've never gotten it to load P:M without using the AXNEXTFRAME method (besides once or twice I believe on the newer dolphin), and it doesn't save the method so i have to keep switching it to it every time, and also it has a lot of graphical bugs and sometimes sound bugs indeed. Also, is there a guide you made or anything on how to RECORD replays on dolphin? I was just thinking I'd use Camtasia screen recorder and find a way to make it play at like 50% speed (how do you do this?) and speed it back up in video editor (since My CPU constantly drops the game to like 85% speed off and on which I believe is normal). (I don't want to use a Frame by Frame method unless there's a way to not make it take up a ton of space). Thankyou (07-07-2012, 09:14 AM)O_O Wrote: " To fix this, copy the contents of the "data" folder to /User/Wii/. " As to the issue with your saved game data for SSBB: First, delete the saved game folder related to your SSBB ISO (just to be sure). To find it, right click on your SSBB ISO in Dolphin and open the saved game folder. Now, load the ISO without Gecko, nor a SD card. You'll now able to make the proper saved game data now. Exit SSBB, afterward. Now, copy all the files from your newly created saved game data into the 'Wii' folder. Try starting the ISO with Gecko+SD card loaded now, it should work, if you did it right. Also, change your account name to something a bit more serious, kiddo? 07-08-2012, 07:23 PM
Wow that worked thanks!
Now I need to know the folder where I can put Replays onto the virtual "Wii console" so I can play them and record them. Also how do I change the game speed to be at a constant 50%? Does the sound then play at a 50% speed too (I don't really care about recording sound but it'd be nice)? Otherwise is there a recording method that isn't Gigabytes upon Gigabytes of space taking, I don't need superb quality or anything... I was just going to use a screen recorder to record it at 50% speed and speed it up in an editor. 07-10-2012, 07:12 AM
I found out something interesting today. If you launch Brawl, and then launch the mod via GeckoOS, the game ID will stay as RSBE01. What's so great about this? Well, this makes using custom textures easy (like this for example, though you'd need a batch renamer to change the pm stuff to RSBE01) and most importantly, you can make a save state while playing the mod and load it while playing normal Brawl without the need of GeckoOS. It seems to work just fine, codes and all, so what I said about save states in the first post doesn't apply when doing this. It's basically an instant mod launch.
*Tested on revision 3.0-716 (07-08-2012, 07:23 PM)O_O Wrote: Wow that worked thanks! Can't say i know where to put the replay. Since I've never had any problems with replays, imported from my Wii or not, I'm thinking something went wrong when making the .raw. I'd recommend either trying new .raw of your SD or taking the replay from your actual SD card and putting it in the .raw. If you want 50% speed, then the only way I know is to make the game run at 30 fps by changing the frame limit in the config menu. Audio won't slow down when doing this, but gameplay will. As for the recording software, everyone seems to like FRAPS, but you should search the forum or make a thread asking what the best recorder for dolphin is, since I don't know much about this. 08-17-2012, 01:52 AM
Hey guys
Ive followed every step however when I try to load Gecko (main.dol or boot.elf - Gecko 1931) I keep getting No Dvd Found when I try to launch the game. The ISO is in my Dolphin games list and I can run it fine as Brawl with the Project M 2.1 logo. I make sure IOS36-64-v3608 is selected before I launch Gecko and the SD.raw file is in my Dolphin-win-x86-v3.0-716\User\Wii directory with the Nohomebrew files attached to it. Any help? Thanks EDIT: Ignore you need to right click on the brawl iso and set it as the default ISO |
