So, I saw that 5.0 was out and I ran out and downloaded it, but when I booted up Pokemon XD, a game that ran fine (apart from FPS in Agate Village, Agate Shrine, and Pyrite Town which are STILL running slow) and I noticed there was some weird shading going on, I'm attaching a picture so you can see. I'm just at a loss at why it just suddenly did this. And it's not just one backend, it does it with OGL, Dx11, and Dx12. Not sure why. Thanks in advance for helping me understand this!
Unusual shading on 5.0

If I remember correctly, that's caused by the widescreen hack or other hacks like that.

Because it's weird to play it 4:3 on this screen. And my "widescreen hack" is disabled, but my widescreen is my "force 16;9" option, but even changing it to auto does not fix it. 06-29-2016, 03:46 AM

From what I remember, Pokemon XD is not an easy game to run, even in 5.0, and AMD CPUs have very bad single threaded performance. You'll likely see performance problems with a good handful of popular games. As for the widescreen thing, probably not. It's a 4:3 game, and if the widescreen hack/AR code messes with coloring, that can't really be helped. 06-29-2016, 03:46 AM
A lot of GameCube games don't support 16:9 natively. The widescreen hack in Dolphin is a last resort really. There is a PAL 16:9 code, but not one for NTSC. Someone with moderate experience with action replay codes could probably port over the PAL 16:9 code to NTSC.

And for the most part, I've got a pretty solid framerate on most other games. What about upgrading to like Xeon E5-2670 V3? I'm considering doing that which has 12 cores that are hyperthreaded at 2.3GHz because I'm struggling too much on this CPU and it seems like a good deal with a used xeon. 06-29-2016, 03:51 AM

I updated my post above, but I have my widescreen hack unchecked, and even if I turn my "Force 16:9" to "auto" so it runs in 4:3, it still shows up. So it's not that. 06-29-2016, 04:14 AM
Really. Do you have a projection hack or free camera? I'm in the same area without the issue.
