I've been tinkering with trying to get Dolphin to work on my PC. Now I know I don't have the most beastly computer, but I know that it can run many games on high settings and more - Such as SWTOR, Skyrim, Sonic generations. Other games of the sort.
The one odd thing is that when I play some games on Dolphin, I can't seem to get a framerate that I consider smooth.
Below is my system (It's dated, homebrew PC I built myself back about 3 years ago, it needs an update but I lack funds)
Processor:
AMD Athlon II X2 240 Processor (2 CPUs), ~3.1GHz
Memory:
4096MB RAM
Hard Drive:
2 TB Total
Video Card:
NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250
Monitor:
Gateway 22' HD Widescreen Monitor
Sound Card:
Speakers (C-Media PCI Audio Device)
Speakers/Headphones:
Logitech Dolby 5.1 Suround sound
Keyboard:
Dell Multi Feature Keyboard
Mouse:
Generic PS/2 Laser mouse
Mouse Surface:
Flat Custom graphic Konata Mouse pad. :3
Operating System:
Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit (6.1, Build 7600) (7600.win7_gdr.110622-1503)
Motherboard:
ASRock K10N78M AM3/AM2+/AM2 NVIDIA GeForce 8100 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
Computer Case:
Rosewill DESTROYER Black Gaming ATX Mid Tower
I'm just wondering if it's due to a few things i'm doing wrong, or if it's just the fact that Dolphin requires mildly beefy computers to run decently (And not below 30fps for GC games)
I'm trying to play Paper Mario: The Thousand Year door and I KNOW this game isn't insanely graphically intensive, but i'm just curious if it's something i'm doing wrong.
Quick edit: I'm thinking it's my processor, seeing as it's rather an old duel core. I wanna overhaul the mobo and the processor, so if it's that then i'm damn sure I know what I need to fix.
