The change to Lock Threads definitely does absolutely nothing if Lock Threads are off, so... gotta be some settings differences.
Unstable FPS since r6587

User error is the most likely cause, yes.

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-Bit - SP1 CPU: AMD Llano A6-3400M, Quad-Core, 1.4GHz-2.6GHz (Overclocked) GPU: AMD Radeon HD6650M, 1GB GDDR3 (Catalyst 13.1) RAM: Samsung 4GB DDR3-1333
I'm doing some testing right now.
I reverted to r6581 and noticed, that Luigi's Mansion runs faster when the threads are NOT locked to the cores (I think I will only use Luigi's mansion for further testing) The speed remains reasonable in both configurations, though. I'll test all revisions from r6581 onwards and report if I encounter any major difference in speed between one and another revision. Btw. I'm using x64 builds. Looks like I got lucky. There seems to be a huge problem with r6582. With thread locking I get extremely fast sound (faster than anything I've heard before using the newer revisions) The ingame speed however seems to suffer from an extreme slowdown (it is unplayably slow ~15 FPS) With unlocked threads, the sound is still too fast, but not as extreme. The ingame speed is also faster than in general with ~40 FPS
Coincidence does not exist.
We only believe it does, because we never know what happens beyond our visions and thoughts. 12-17-2010, 05:06 AM
Are you using the LLE audio plugin? If not, r6582 wouldn't do anything for you, good or bad.

Umm are you using the DSP LLE plugin? For the upteenth time do you have audio throttle on?
6579 - 6583 have broken Lock Threads to Cores, it should cause a slowdown, what processor do you have? It sounds like you might have a HT processor in which case using Lock Threads before 6584 will definitely cause a massive slowdown.
Not LLE but HLE and throttle is on.
Interesting fact: Starfox Assault works without speedup or slowdown (runs with 60FPS though). And the FPS remains stable, whether it's ingame or during cutscenes, unlike Luigi's Mansion (using r6593 right now) I have an i7, so yes, it does use HT (can't do much about it, I have an HP Bios...)

Here's a video about the unstable FPS rate.
I hope it can help.
