21:9 Screen Ratio [CosmoCortney]
04576880 3FD00000
E0000000 80008000

It does a good job of keeping the UI unstretched, but there's still noticeable culling on the sides of the screen, and a very strange effect where the reflections on water are offset, and rendered completely incorrectly on the sides of the screen. I've attached a screenshot showing the strange water rendering.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Unfortunately, I don't have any codes for a better 21:9 experience, but I do want to note that 3440x1440 is not technically 21:9, but 43:18. So the modified code would be:

Code:
04576880 3ED65359
E0000000 80008000
I noticed that despite what you said, there is still some minor stretching of the GUI, so perhaps this code might fix it.

If you're so inclined, perhaps you can modify the above 4:3 code, but I can't make heads or tails of it.

Also, perhaps @Brandondorf9999 can help, as he made the code for 4:3 for me.
I asked his opinion on the various issues that the code had, but he hasn't responded for months.

I also modified a code for no HUD which had a toggle into a code that is always on:

Code:
$No HUD Always
04b7f2ec 00000000
04b7f300 00000000
e0000000 80008000
Does anyone think that it might be possible to have the HUD show up when bringing up the item (B button) and equipment (Minus Button) menus? It would also be nice to choose to show hearts, the shield meter, and the rupee counter separately (heck, why not each element of the HUD?). I know that the Pro HUD removes most things, but not everything.

Now I'm trying to find a way to finalize the game via Gecko or AR that will go along with this code here to fix any effects that might need it. Heatwave is the biggest one and I've heard that certain water effects needs fixing.

Basically I've been planning a play through of this game on my 48:9 setup (never beat it or got far). Are there any such codes that will just fix any broken effects on 48:9? Up-scaling to 4k textures simply does not defeat the terrible pixely heatwave and such.

Anything would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks again for the awesome work so far!!!

To fix the low resolution in the effects you mentioned (underwater and heatwave), simply enable "Graphics\Enhancements\Scaled EFB Copy". Beware: goo will get jaggy (it's not as ugly as those low res effects, and you can use hires textures to make it look better).

Don't forget that enabling "Graphics\Hacks\GPU Texture Decoding" disables "Graphics\Enhancements\Arbitrary Mipmap Detection", so don't enable it.

Also, specifically for Super Mario Sunshine, "Hacks\Skip EFB Access from CPU" breaks the sun, and "Hacks\Store EFB Copies to Texture Only" breaks the goos, so you probably won't want those too.

The widescreen codes for "Prince of Persia - The Sands of Time (NTSC-U Rev 1)" (GPTE41) from the database archive are not working.
Edit 1: in Dolphin 5.0-13298 for Android (Snapdragon 865).

Edit 2: this code is working:

Would it be possible to have a widescreen hack for Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone?

Have been searching endlessly to no avail.

I found that the PS2 version has one, but cannot find one for GCN.

I have tried to understand the process of creating a patch, but I'm not having luck finding any values for this game.

Align HUD

Generally speaking, how do you manage to move HUD elements around with Gecko codes or hide them entirely? Is it just too specific to a game to expand the idea to others? I want to be able to move Skyward Sword's HUD elements.

So it's looking like some of the primary contributors to generating codes for widescreen formats are no longer active on the forum.

I'm interested in learning how to create and modify Gecko/AR codes and contribute to the archive, but there doesn't seem to be a good guide out there on how to figure out which addresses correspond to aspect ratio/culling. Is there anyone who's still active on the forum that can point me in the right direction?

Personally, long term, I'd like to see the community focus more on anti-culling codes. That is more future proof solution (ex: would work for VR) and then you can use Free Look's field-of-view capability to match whatever screen size you own. Admittedly it's not as user friendly right now (you have to manually set the fov every play session) but I hope to fix that in the near future.

As far as how to create those codes, I imagine the process is similar to other reverse engineering efforts. Looking at symbols of a game, or looking at the raw memory and looking for changes. For the latter, I really like Stephen Chapman's videos, though I have only done one attempt of making a free look camera for another game in an emulator (and I gave up because "saving" the offsets was a pain...)

Sorry I can't be more help. Good luck!
