Is it possible to make a better 4:3 hack for Skyward Sword? I have a preliminary code that works to some degree, but it's very imperfect. I have tested it on Dolphin before, but it seems to work better on a real Wii, as my recent testing hasn't worked well in Dolphin.
Unfortunately, it breaks the water effect visible near the lake in Skyloft and possibly other effects. The cutscenes and talking with characters force the game into a weird not-quite-4:3 aspect ratio that feels claustrophobic. Actually, the whole game feels claustrophobic, and I think that it's because the FOV is too low for a 4:3 aspect ratio. Another thing is that the aiming reticule seems to be off-center. The GUI is mostly off-screen too. The game is still playable, but it's not as easy. Lastly, the two FMVs (the opening "legend" and the end credits) are presented in the wrong aspect ratio.
Thank you very much.
