Hi, I have an Asus A53SM with windows 7 x64, nvdia gf 630m 2gb, RAM 8GB DDR-3, intel i5-2450m 2.5ghz
I have tried using throttlestop 6.0 but it seems the processor doesn't reach 3.1ghz at all times, only in the beginning part and then goes back to 2.5ghz

http://i.imgur.com/YIi2tyd.jpg

any help will be appreciated thanks

*Look at the temp*
*See Temp = 99 degree Celsius OMG!*
Warning : Your laptop is burning . Stop playing at once until you fix that overheating issue . CPU and GPU temp should be less than 85C
Recommend : Disassemble and Clean your laptop thermal compound then replace it with Arctic MX-4 (or IC diamond 7 carat if you want the best aftermarket thermal compound ) .

I would use Tuniq TX-2, actually, but that's just me. A large amount of carbon-based pastes are rather similar, and it doesn't matter too much which one you pick. Just, don't get a silver paste, that's pretty much asking to turn your laptop's heatsink into a massive copper resistor.

IC Diamond isn't that great for laptops (and possibly Intel's desktop stock heatsinks) since it require an above-average amount of pressure from the heatsink to be properly spread, even when the compound is heated up to improve malleability.

Disclaimer: I've used IC Diamond on both AMD desktops and Intel laptops.

Wait, what? Explain please. Silver based pastes are more conductive than carbon based pastes.

Ya know, diamond is made of carbon. Tongue

It´s exactly a carbon allotrope (can anyone please correct my spelling), according to Wikipedia.

You know what I meant. Diamond pastes are commonly lumped together in their own category separate from other carbon micro-particle pastes.

Either you took "resistor" to mean thermal resistor (I don't even know if that's a thing), or you're extending what I said in a bit of a jarring way.

I simply asked you to elaborate.

Since it doesn't touch anything on the motherboard except the cpu heatsink (and sometimes gpu heatink) I don't see how it could complete a circuit. Thus I had to turn to other possible interpretations and ask you to elaborate in case I was wrong.
