Predictive FIFO slows down SMS for some reason (build 6BD753B, wait for shader compilation disabled).

Tino, I'm having some issues with loading save states in several games. I get some error messages and sometimes it loads the save state ok, sometimes it does not. The first error message goes something like this:
"GFX FIFO UNKNOWN OP CODE 0xff @ 000000002786ECC7 This means one of the following: *The GPU got desynced, disabling dual core can help. *Command Stream corrupted by some spurious memory bug *This is really an unknown opcode (unlikely) *Some other sort of bug Dolphin will now crash or hang. Enjoy" I tested latest master 4.0-3557 vs Ishiiruka.c10cd1c, the states load just fine in master. I also have some screenshots about the other error messages that show up. The error when loading save states happens even with Async Shader comp turned off. PS : I know that save states in general are not recommended and are expected to be a bit unstable but the difference between master and Ishiiruka in this regard is noticeable. Just felt like reporting this, it isn't really a big issue. Congrats for the amazing work so far ! 10-09-2014, 11:35 AM
I think savestates not working at most of the time is a big issue. Good catch!

I've been testing this with Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, and I am absolutely enamored with the asynchronous shader compilation and predictive fifo. It's nice to finally be able to play the games without hemorrhaging frames every time you open a door. I hope that those changes make it into the master branch some day. I have noticed one weird issue, though: All the audio is a lower pitch than it's supposed to be.

@Tino
I remember reading in the Xenoblade HD texture pack you were planning on looking into the palleted texture issue. I had a quick question in regards to that. If you do end up fixing those issues, Do you plan on doing it only for your builds? Or will you try and merge them into master as well? 10-10-2014, 03:07 AM
? What issues with palleted texture issue? I use the Xenoblade HD texture pack and see no issues.
