Hi Tino,
I wanted to know if you were aware of the ishiiruka ANDROID build which is circulating on the net ?
Is this a port of your work ? Is this legal ?
This build work very well in fact.

Thanks for your response.

I was not aware until today, im taking a look at the changes but it seems to be based in a really old version of Ishiiruka.

Are the changes actually publicly available? I've never seen anyone offer anything other than an APK (which is illegal).

I received a pull request, and is a fix formy stable brach to make it android buildable, but is form someone that is trying to make it work. so if an apk is available it should be from another source, I didn't know that someone was working on and android port of ishiiruka so i wil try to gather more info to see if the code is available, if it is will try tomerge it to the main branch.

Would it be possible to set an exact/custom render resolution beyond a screen's capabilities? (outside of the standard multiples of the native resolution)
Sort of like what "Auto (Window Size)" does, but with more flexibility to it. Goal being to downscale a value of 3840x2160 by a nearest neighbor/integer factor in the main window.

is posile but is known to cause issues in some games touse a non integral resolution scale.

Gotcha, thanks for the reply. Would there be a way to do so manually in say the .ini file or elsewhere just if someone were curious of testing it?

The current version does not support it directly you will have to try a really old version for that functionality.

To be honest I completely forgot about this thread.

Hello guys I'm the guy @Tino (the dev) was talking about. I am trying to apply fixes to an up to date Ishiiruka to create an updated APK with fixes for games that are found in the latest dolphin Official builds.

So far I've been able to use the source code from MMJ v10413 (latest available source code online for MMJ = https://github.com/weihuoya/dolphin/releases) to apply one of my fixes to get Call of Duty Black Ops Zombies mode working. I was able to apply the fix and re-build the source code to an apk and now it works. As you'll see here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O0Md1-lltso

Problem is that's a old version of MMJ (latest build version = v11453) and many other improvements and custom fixes made by MMJ dev are missing. The other issue is that I'm a novice at coding and app building; I'm literally learning everything on my own for the past month of so in quarantine so I lack guidance and knowledge in applying some fixes, customizations and overall experience on app building and code.

Why am I targetting Ishiiruka? Well Ishiiruka has been my favorite Dolphin emulator for Android since discovering it after MMJ. So far out of Official/Mod/Ishiiruka/MMJ - Ishiiruka v6 seems to give the best balance between performance and rendering resolution quality. I was surprised to find out that the dev didn't know there was an Android variant of his work and that he'll have to look into it.
So I tried contacting another guy on youtube that seems to customize emulators (mostly the looks of it) and he did say that he used Ishiiruka-master (found here: https://github.com/Tinob/Ishiiruka) to build the customized versions. Problem is that he is Spanish and doesn't give much information to guide me.
These have been the translations of the conversations we had so far:

His exact translated words in response to where he got his source:
"If you can get the code on github mmj and ishiiruka"

When I told him about the errors and what he did to build the apk he responded with this:
"You may have to download a plugin or something you lack for compilation, on github they explain everything about how to compile"

So far no more responses from him and that's about a week ago. I have followed all compilation instructions hence, being able to compile MMJ but Ishiiruka is just not working out. He also has a youtube channel showcasing Ishiiruka App/Apk here: [REMOVED -JosJuice] (it just doesn't have the fixes I want to apply)

As for my errors you can see all the details here:
https://stackoverflow.com/questions/62054559/errors-when-generating-an-apk-any-solutiion

Honestly all I want to do right now is build the apk WITH its original files from the source code on github; NO Fixes or EDITS to it at all. Once I'm able to build the app successfully then I'll apply fixes and build the new updated apk.
Hoping I could get some hints or guidance; the dev is helping me out so far but he can be busy with his schedule so its been tough trying to figure it out, constantly failing to build the normal apk with its files. I'll keep at it but its been really demotivating to try without any knowledge yet on how to get around it or fix the errors and build the apk.

So that's the story so far and I'm glad I stumbled upon this thread again; I was looking for another way to communicate with the dev or get any other hints so I hope anyone could bless me with some wisdom while the dev looks into things
Thanks in advance~

For the record, I have removed the link you posted to one of their videos since the video contains illegal content in the description. Keep in mind that all APKs that are posted without corresponding source code violate Dolphin's license.

That's a strange explanation... Either they're extremely bad at explaining (which isn't unlikely, considering the language barrier) or they don't want to reveal all the details of how they made their APKs. Combining the Ishiiruka source code and the MMJ source code is far from easy. You would basically have to start with MMJ and then backport each change you want from Ishiiruka, unless you want to go the route of making Ishiiruka Android compatible from scratch, which would be even harder and doesn't explain why the build looks so similar to MMJ.

Ishiiruka simply does not support building for Android. You would have to make non-trivial changes to fix that. Though in the case of the specific errors I see in that build log, it seems like just changing some s_ prefixes to m_ in OGL/Render.cpp should fix it. A trick to find the relevant parts of the extremely long Android native build log is to Ctrl+F for "error".
