updated the latest forlder with a new version, issue reported by dephined showld be fixed.
updated the latest folder with a new experimental version.
Now is when Ishiiruka turns to cooperative mode. ![]() A rewrite in the vertex loaders now allows the generation and dump of the base code for the vertex loader. In the advanced tab you can now select the "Dump Vertex Loaders" option, that will generate the source code for the verterx loaders in a way that can be easily added to videoCommon. Added precompiled loaders for SMG so there you can test the improvements in speed. So now if anyone think that a specific game need some extra speed just enable the option and send me the code and i will add it to the code base. INPORTANT: This changes are focused for people with lowerend cpus, any amd user will be really happy with this changes. So if you have a big intel cpu don't complain about no speed up from this changes if your CPU is high end then your bottleneck is not in the vertex translator. 07-14-2014, 03:35 PM
Hi Tino !
Cool thing you implemented !)) Silent Hill SM vertex translator is a real bottleneck even on highend CPUs, (tons of vertices and + snowflake operations) I will try to record source code and post it here

Ok, I've made a dump from Silent Hill SM and uploaded it here:

Updated latest folder with a new version. Linear code for SHSM included and fixes for 32 bits platforms.
one thing i forget to tell, only loaders that are not already included are dumped, so if in your dumps you get nothing or only a few loaders is because the rest are already compiled. 07-15-2014, 04:19 AM

So you kind of include 'information' into the Dolphin build for a certain game so that the emulator doesn't have to 'calculate' that stuff when running the game and thus it's faster or something like that? ^^
Intel i5-4690k (Devil's Canyon) @ 3.5 GHz (+Scythe Mugen) / Gainward GTX 1070 Phoenix (OC'd) / ASUS Z97 PRO GAMER / 16GB G.Skill DDR3-2400 CL10 TridentX / X-Fi XtremeMusic / Win10 Pro 64bit / Dell S2716DG Monitor / 3x original WiiMote+MotionPlus+Nunchuk
not exactly, I added the needed tools to generate optimized source code for the loaders, then the code can be merged in to dolphin source speeding up vertex proccesing.
A dynamical way could be jiting the code but i'm short in time to implement a good jit for the vertex loaders, so i let users dicide which games can use aditional speed and generate loaders for those games only. |
