Depend of your PC. I have a 4770k (OC 4.4) + r9 290 and for example in SMG i have 10 fps more in DX11. You can not generalize saying (D3D9 is still better than OGL or D3D11 backend...).

Rodolfo: Do you have any idea what build of yours fixes this issue? http://code.google.com/p/dolphin-emu/issues/detail?id=6051

I think it would help in debugging the issue on master too.

About the Issue 6051

I found that The 1st build with the fix for RE0 is Dolphin-DX9-Final.4.0-156-dirty.x64 (February 26, 2014)

The Dolphin-DX9-Final-Stable-x86 (October 31, 2013) doesn't has the fix for RE0.

If @Tino doesn't compiled anything between October 31, 2013 until february 26, 2014, the 1st build with the fix is the Dolphin-DX9-Final.4.0-156-dirty.
CPU: Intel Core i7 3770 3.4 GHz (3.9 GHz with turbo boost) 4.23GHz with OC

Ok, thanks. I don't have the game or I'd do a git bisect myself.

For the love of god, don't say that! Say you like it or that it's good for your old system or whatever, just don't say it's generally better or we're bound to have another pointless discussion here >_<

My old system ? Hardware - Core i7 3.5GHz, 8GB Ram, GF 670 3GB...
And I choose DX9 not for speed, speed is Ok in most cases in OGL. I choose it because of image quality ! Check it for yourself - load RE0, or RE1, or RE4 and check the difference in image quality ! You will see that shadows more accurate and screen filtering is more clean only in DX9 backend !

Yeah, so DX9 is better for RE right now. All backends have their advantages and disadvantages. Just don't say something is generally better, I hate these pointless discussions which do nothing but make people angry and keep them from coding or testing or whatever it is they do which is much more constructive Wink

Hi everyone !
About Resident Evil Zero "lenses issue" - I tested it and it really works in DX9 branch, but this glich somehow related with "force texture filtering" option... or with video configuration window changes, which reloads entire video backend...
When you switching "force texture filtering" option you can see that lens shining appears and works normal...
I also tried this on OGL backend in master branch, but only some of lenses works and with 2x IR, and "force texture filtering" on... Strange...Looks like some framebuffer format doesn't load itself correctly...

There no dicussion here. Always I test Ishiruka dx11, because rodolfo is doing several optmizations in this "defferent dolphin version" like (shaders improvments, vertex translator, etc) I have a intel 4770k and r9 290 and rodolfo has AMD 8320 and ati 7870. LINEAR if you know difference in dx9 in shadows vs dx11 you must report that. There no competition beetwen backends I only test dx11 because is better in my HW. My prior comments point you must not generalize, because each backend in perfomace can be different in each PC configuration. But the accuracy should be near to the same, if not you must report that. Dephined if your HW can you must test in DX11/GL also.
