I can't seem to get the controller profile to load, I've created a profile called "Donkey Kong" and put this in the games ini

[Controls]
WiimoteProfile1 = Donkey Kong

Whenever I start the game it still goes to my default controller which is a real wiimote. Is there something I am doing wrong?

Then here is your problem: this section is only parsed if Wiimote are set to Emulated or Hybrid. Since your default configuration is Real, the profile are loaded but no effect because Dolphin thinks you're using a Real wiimote. And as far as I know, this can't be set by game INIs yet...

Exactly, control profiles aren't used by a real wiimote so they won't load, emulated wiimote makes use of control profiles, switch to emulated and it should work.
Btw what happened to the thread being stickied / becoming a guide?

MaJoR said he would do it. It shouldn't be that time-consuming but I guess he got sidetracked. I'll poke him with a stick, get him to finish it soon. Sorry about that.

EDIT: It's gonna take MaJoR a while, I guess (lol, real life) so I'm sticking this since it's pretty useful.

I noticed a curious thing. When I enable Vsync through an .ini file, the result differs from enabling Vsync as a default.

Example is F-Zero GX: When I enable Vsync in Dolphin (graphics menu) the game is smooth BUT alas it crashes after about a minute in the race. When I disable Vsync in graphics menu, but enable it through the .ini file, the game is choppy now and then during a race and doesn't crash. I tried this numerous times, with different Dolphin versions (Dolphin-x64_4.0-156 and Dolphin-x64_4.0-291).

Weird right?

I had a crash on F-Zero GX that I couldn't pin down for a long time. Your post may allow me to figure out what was happening. Many thanks xystus.

Edit: YES THAT IS THE CAUSE OF THE CRASH! Thank you so much for bringing this up. Will add it to the ini!

But.. how come the result of vsync on through ini VS vsync on through graphics settings is different? Or is it just me?
