Yes. Dolphin doesn't use it anymore.

EFBToTextureEnable = True (or False to enable "Efb to Texture" and "Efb to Ram" respectively). => This option is renamed to "Store Efb Copies to Texture Only" in the latest dev version.

It's still called EFBToTextureEnable in the INIs. Only the name that's shown in the GUI was changed.

Thanks JosJuice.

I think there are some issues on some games, overall CPUThread is True by default, however some games don't work fine with it although they don't have any setting in their INI to deal with that.

1080 and MGS (surely there are more) need CPUThread = false in their INI files

Dual core instabilities are prone to change between revs and vary between systems too (systems that can't sustain full speed might be more unstable at times for example). Add to the above the fact of the big speed hit and it is better left to the individual whether he wants to kill his framerate for more stability or not. I rarely chose to use it in the database even in known cases. Sync gpu is also sufficient at times.

My system should be capable enough. 4670K and 750 Ti SC. Specially for MGS where it's slow paced (it glitches on the green radio communication panel). I tested from version 7411 to 8530 so both glitches in these 2 games were consistent through 1000 revs.
If you even rarely chose to use dual core, and given its immature state shouldn't be preferible to default it to off? novice users are going to flood threads for this and that undocumented bug. It would seem defaulting Sync GPU to off would be a better trade-off (although this page states that SyncGPU acts as a performance increaser)

PD: or probably not, by reading here it seems that SyncGPU only works along Dual Core mode.

There's also another thing wrong. Whether you disable Dual Core in the Dolphin settings, the option is always going to be enabled (or it appears so) in the game properties. This is false because as I explained earlier disabling Dual Core in the general tab turned the game to play without glitches... so that is also something to take care of.

There are three states for the game properties checkboxes: unchecked (empty), checked (with a checkmark in it), and undetermined (with a square in it, at least on Windows). Undetermined means that it uses the global setting. Are you sure it's checked, not undetermined?

My Aero theme shows the same for checked and undetermined, I know it's there because I need to tick twice to uncheck, so I don't know... might be only me.

Personally I have been running games pretty fine with Dual Core off until recently that I noticed of the feature and decided to give it a go, but it creates stability issues so I'm back to off, I will eventually try it on if some heavy game requires it (Star Wars?).

Updated the speed limit option in the initial post. It works since dolphin 4.0-8581.

eckso: Please also try dual core + syncGpu. It will likely fix most of those games with a bit smaller performance impact than single core.

1080º Avalanche got fixed somewhere after r8530. The character would flicker to transparent when Dual Core was enabled.
