Added Progressive Scan to the initial post, it should work since the dolphin 4.0-1925 revision.

Is it possible to add this to the GUI in the future?
An option to save and load certain settings like it's done with the controller setup?

As of now, no because it is not that easy to find a good way to implement it and people with no knowledge can mess up their configuration and make difficult to track what is wrong. That already happens with just those few options in game properties, can't imagine what will happen if everything is easily configurable per game in the gui.

the way to easily corretly the support is add a button to 'use dolphin default options' checked as default, use the game as specific dolphin config unchecked by default
if the user choose to use dolphin the options is the same to all games, if the user check to open the specif config add a new tab like advanced to do the specifc game configs like setup a controller settings , native resolution and all dolphin options.
and to simplify the user life add a button on game properties like 'back to default config' and all custom changes are cleaned(a way to export/import the config can be a good thing too)

the file can be created on the same folder or same tree folder from the game like S2LE01/savegame S2LE10/customconfig/S2LE01game.ini i.e.

the track of 'whats is wrong' can add on the logfiles if the user check the custom config to the game or if the user are using the default dolphin config

but it is just a idea the default dolphin options are autoload to all games, if the user want use a specifc and check it, the dolphin only will consider the config on the customconfig.ini file

Would I be correct in assuming that as of the 4.0-2227 update mentioned in the July Progress Report, there is no way, even with the gameini settings, to undo the accurate memory card emulation speed and restore the old faster method? The article makes it sound like the old code is gone, rather than having a toggle, so someone will have to add something new to speed it up again at a later date (if ever).

Well, it'll come back in stages. Right now, Dolphin is incapable of faster memory cards because the EXI timings are so messed up. No matter how fast you make it, it'll just stay around average.

Future merges will rectify this.

This helped a lot, i configured all my games and it's very convenient. Also this made me realize that the settings i was changing all the time for example in twilight, they were already in the inis that come with the emulator lol.

Actually looking at all those inis i see they enable settings that they don't mention in the wiki page. For instance the efb to ram is enabled in wind waker because there is this setting in the ini file for the game

EFBToTextureEnable = False

Does efb to ram solves something in wind waker or it's a remnant from the past? (the ini with this setting it's on latest revision as well)

The pictobox and it's quests in Windwaker don't work properly without efb to Ram.

Omg what an awesome thread. Just what I was looking for.
Combining Dolphin settings with controller settings = win Smile

What is the easiest way to create these *.ini files?
I'm doing it in a stupid way right now I think Tongue
I open Dolphin and right click the game and go to proterties. Then I make some sort of change to makes sure it saves an *.ini file for that specific game.
Then I have the ID for the game like "RHAE01.ini" (Wii Play) I then go to that ini file and make my settings like:

[Core]
CPUThread = False
[Controls]
WiimoteProfile1 = Wii Play
WiimoteProfile2 = Wii Play
WiimoteProfile3 = Wii Play
WiimoteProfile4 = Wii Play

Is that the way to do it, or is there an easier way?
Are you able to rename the ini files with the game name and not the ID? Wii Play.ini instead of RHAE01.ini
I could imagine that when you have a lot of modified ini files, you will lose the overview when you want to edit a specific game ini Smile
