Easy as pie, dudes. I´ll put here what you need.

1- Dolphin 4.0 stable.

2- A MK-DD ISO.

My specs:

4 GB SO-DIMM RAM @533 MHz
1.0-1.4 GHz AMD A6-1450 APU
Radeon HD Graphics 7xxx/8xxx (I have 8250)

First thing you have to do is select LLE audio in the emu´s options.

Later, select D3D9 (D3D11 can also be used, but the first one gives better results) in the Graphics options.

Disable AA and (optionally) set AF to 16x.

In Hacks, enable:

Fast Depht Calculating
Skip Alpha Dest
OpenMP
Skip CPU to EFB access.

Uncheck "Disable XFB" and then set it to virtual mode.

In Sound, choose OpenAL and set it to any high latency number.

Start the game. In the lowest circumstances you should be getting 30-ish FPS and VPS.

Remember to plug your laptop and set it to Full Performace (or High Performance).

Hope this thread will be helpful for everyone, mainly for noobs.

Good night for everyone, here from Santo Domingo!TongueBig Grin

That usually shouldn't result in a speed up. I have a low-spec laptop too, but it won't run Dolphin properly since the GLSL merge, so I can't see if this game is a special case. One thing I would like to add is that you can probably use what's called the VBeam Trick (google it) so that the audio is still processed at 100% even if you're not getting fullspeed FPS-wise. This is for LLE audio only though; this trick doesn't get recommended as often as it used to since delroth worked a lot on HLE audio, but for some games like MK-DD, it might help.

Aaaand marked unofficial. While I'm here, why does the font get bigger halfway through?

EDIT: Ninja'd, nice save Shonumi.

Shonumi: Np, I actually frequently forget I'm supposed to mark these things as Unofficial. Also, yeah I'm editing your post instead of replying :p

@Shonumi: Uh, if I´m not wrong, GLSL works only for OpenGL (yeah, I know I´ve mention in the thread that anyone can try with any of the backends).

If the state above it´s true, what does your explanation has to do with the instruction? (Not offending nor pretending to be a smartass).

I mean, those XFB boosts (in my experience) only occur in D3D (more in DX9 than in DX11).

I'm only talking about my laptop, not everyone else's in general. My laptop runs Linux. Linux only has the OpenGL backend. I can't run this game (or many games at all) with my laptop's IGP (Intel GMA X3100) since the GLSL merge requires features it doesn't support, therefore I can't test this game at all to verify if XFB provides any speedup on low-spec laptops. I do know that enabling the XFB to Virtual speeds up the VPS (number of requested frame draws) but it drops the FPS and the amount of actual frames drawn. It'll "boost" one area while taking away from another.

Seems that finally someone understood what I meant with "speed increase when using virtual XFB".Smile

And yes, now I understand what´s on with your laptop.

(Takes the comment apart)

Now that we´re talking about this game, I found that HLE audio lasts longer in Dolphin 3.0 than in 3.5 and 4.0.

Uh, hi there.Big Grin Just waking up this sleepy thread.Tongue

@Shonumi: I just googled the trick you mentioned before. I´ll try when I have time.

@MaJoR: (Oops, I forgot to answer your question about the font size). I honestly don´t know why did it happen. Maybe a bug in the forum´s reply editor system?Confused

Best regards for everyone.
