Unlocks in Netplay Kirby Air ride

Me and three of my friends are trying to play Netplay Kirby Air Ride but are having some troubles. We want to play the game with all the unlocks so we can use all the skins (Skins = wins) however we have run into trouble with all our attempts. We tried using one guys memory card who has most of the skins and enabled write to memory card, but the game always desyncs immediately. We also tried the code that gives all unlocks.

However this didn't work either. We ensured that everyone had all the same settings (Same memory card and same slot for that try, and same cheats and enable cheats on for the other try) but to no avail.

Any suggestions.

I am running-
CPU i7-4720 HQ
GPU 960M
RAM 16 GB
OS Win 10

However other people in the group have different hardware.
